This year we didn't have much planned for Spring Break, and of course we started feeling sorry for ourselves so... Mom realized she had 2 free rooms in Wendover and so Thursday night we took off. We have never rode the 4 wheelers at Knolls and we have always wondered about it so we stopped there first. It was really sandy and very cool, but we left after a short hour because we were starving and there is nothing like a $5.00 footlong Subway when you are hungry.
After Knolls and Subway we headed back to our room for a nice relaxing night. Then the next day we just stayed in the hills just north of Wendover and explored them. They were suppose to have some really cool rocks but we didn't find any. But we did find a cliff to dangle our feel off of. Let me tell you about one stressed out mom. The photo doesn't do it justice but we were all a tad nervous and anxious to get down from there.
On Saturday we headed out early so Dash wouldn't miss us any longer. He really stresses out when he has to sleep in the kennel in the truck. So we hit McDonalds for bfast which the kids always look forward too. Then we headed to the Geode Beds. It was a long drive but I ready Fablehaven to the kids and we all enjoyed it. Even Treg is getting into it.
The Geode Beds were really crowded so we didn't stay long. Then we headed to Topaz Mountain and road our 4 wheelers up the canyon. It was way windy and kinda cold and it was kinda crowded as well so we left after we found a few good ones and headed to Death Valley to find Trilobytes.
That was where we had a lot of fun. We hit the U-Dig site and they were closing in 15 minutes so the owner let us just dig for free. The kids just loved it and they founds some really COOL trilobytes. We just didn't get enough so we looked around some more until it was too dark then we headed home to get a nice relaxing start on the weekend. All in all it was a great weekend!
