Easter Lunchen

This year Easter was different from the beginning to finish. We woke up and the Easter Bunny left the eggs in the house for us to hide. Something about too much snow outside and running out of time because of the storm. So we got to hide the eggs for the kids which was really fun. Then to watch them find them all! LOVE IT! Then since Easter was on General Conference we spent the day lounging listening to Conference and then at lunch time we had my parents and Kami and her kids come over for lunch.
This year Easter was completely different from start to finish. You see we woke It was GREAT right after lunch we did the 12 days of Easter that tells the true story of Easter. Its amazing the difference one year makes with the kids understanding it. Anyway it was nice to tie in the true meaning.

Matia's Baptism

Today was Matia's very special day. I tried to make sure as much that could be done was done ahead of time so that we could just sit back and enjoy the moment. Such as making and sending out invitations, visits with ward young men (Jared Hall, Corey Jackson, and Nate Rich to get the missionary discussions, interview with Bishop Rich, white cupcakes decorated,
gifts made (including necklace, bracelet, earrings and scripture bag), dress and shoes bought, house cleaned for company, carpets shampoo'd, salads made, deserts hidden to make sure they actually made it to the end of lunch, kids clothes cleaned and ready, Tia's dress pressed, hair do's experiemented with and not quite decided upon, and grocery shopping completed. The long awaited for day was finally here. Matia woke up with such excitement to finally be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She danced about the house just bubbling with joy. The moment finally came where we were ready to venture down to the Church. It was so fun for me to go with her and help her change into her baptism clothing. I just couldn't believe she was at this stage in life. I remember so well the day I was dressing her for her blessing day, all in white so clean and pure. Then the moment came so quickly as she left my side to go walk into the baptismal font with my father. My sweet dear father, who means so very much to me. Then as Terrys father lays his hands upon her head to bless her with the Holy Ghost. She was surrounded with her Grandfathers, Uncle Mike, Uncle Tomas and Brother Clark from the bishopric. I could feel her sweet spirit overflowing with love for her brother Jesus and Heavenly Father. Matia thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining this family and sharing your love with us. Our family just wouldn't be the same without you in it. Thank you to the Glads who braved a snowstorm and 3 hour drive each way to get here. Thank you to everyone who came to make this day such a special one to remember.

Dr. Seuss Play

We started the weekend events with a relaxing night watching the Dr. Seussical play, performed by the A.F. Youth. I say it was relaxing because I didn't have to think about what was and wasn't ready for Matia's baptism the next day. So we sat back and watched a very dear friend of ours Annie Callaway act as the Cat in the Hat. Annie did "Purrfect" as Matia well said it, as did all the cast members. It really makes me want Matia to try it one of these years. With all her dramatic abilities I have an incling she could do well. We then went over to her house for cake and icecream for Annies birthday. What a great bunch of good people. I felt honored to be invited to such an occasion. Thanks Callaways for a great night away from my worries.

Spring Boarding Brighton

So we decided to break in the first day of spring with a trip to Brighton for some Blue Bird Spring Boarding! Oh it was a beautiful day and you know how we are just couldn't pass it up. So we headed up the canyon and had a great time. We hit Majestic first to warm up then we got brave and took all the kids up the Crest Express. Tia was nervous at the first but ended up loving that lift. It soon became all of their favorites! At about 11:30 we took a break and brown bagged it with a super yummy Terry made lunch at the truck. Then we hit a few more runs and Tregs little muscles couldn't take much more after 1:00. So Terry and Bowdee took off for a couple runs while I took the kids to the truck and sat out in the sun just soaking it up. What a great day on the slopes! Too bad it won't last long.

Treg's Student of the Day

So Treg came bounding out of the school doors today with such excitement he could barely stay on the ground. He was awarded the Student of the day, they only pick 2 kids a day from the whole school. Treg was nominated by his teacher for writing such good stories in his journal and for always obeying the classroom rules. Treg, I just can't tell you how proud I am of you for your sucess in school. You are an amazing reader with incredible math talent. And if you keep striving for better and higher you just might be that "milliondollarair" that you are always talking about. Love you kiddo!

Mountain Man Bowdee

Today at school Bowdee got to dress up as a Mountain Man and go to the 4th grade Rendevous. So Bowdee had to have eggs & sausage for breakfast and he ate it off a knife. Because hello mom, mountain men didn't eat yogart from a spoon... He had a great time winning the arm wrest competition in his group (which he just won both arms for his whole class a couple weeks ago), shooting the rubberband gun, and trading his feather throws for beaver pelts. I am just glad he had such a good time. He would have been a great mountain man back in the day. And yes I did make his costume after all the birthday parties were a thing of the past. I do love you Bowdee!

The Leprachauns Strike Again

Only if you could have seen our house in the morning after the leprechauns struck. The left trails of string all through the living room leading the kids to their box of treats. Then they messed up everything, I tried to take a photo of it but it didn't do it justice. Then for dinner we ate all this yummy green food. And of course after we danced to the Irish jigs to the Irish music that was playing. Oh if you could have seen how cute Tia and Treg where!
Okay so I do love a good holiday one that you get to paint your kids hair and dress in fun colors. Eat yummy food and smile, laugh, and be merry!

Angels to Witches....

My friend sent this to me and I LOVED it. So just in case you are wondering, yes I have a broom and I will use it when my wings get broken...But lucky for Terry that doesn't happen very often.

Women are angels.
And when someone breaks our wings,
we simply continue to fly...
on a broomstick.
We are flexible.

Treg's 6 years old

Today at 11:22 my little 6lb 10oz bundle of joy turned 6 years old he is now 40 lbs. But I guess that just tells me there is more of him to love. My family just wouldn't have been complete without Treg. He makes us all laugh with his witty silly personality. I love the way he can make new friends and play so well with pratically anyone. I love the way his mind is quick and he picks up on reading and math so well. I love the way he is determined and has a heart of gold. Today I followed him to school on his bike as I ran behind because he has been wanting to do that and Bowdee and Tia say it is still too cold. Then when I picked him up from school we made plans to go ride our bikes and have a picnic at the park. I just did whatever he wanted to do today just me and him. I love being with you Treg I love to hear the way your mind ticks and how you can do the monkey bars like nobodys buisness. Thanks for the fun memories of today I will never forget the day you turned 6 and we spent the afternoon just bummin'.

Snowboarding Brighton

Last year both Matia and Treg got snowboards and yes we took them once last year. So what a shame it would be to let the year go by and not get any use out of their boards so we went to Brighton and paid $62.00 for Terry and I to get beginner passes and the kiddos were all free. We spent the day going up and down the mountain falling and learning and everyone loved it. Okay so after 2&1/2 hours Tregs muscles were shot but Tia was LOVING it. I have to say my favorite part was being all together and see how each year everyone improves but me... what is up with that? Oh well just as long as my kids love it and have fun. Thanks Terry for being the instigator. I must say I really wanted to get Matia to church since she is going to be baptised soon. But once we were in the mountains I was happy we were there together creating memories. Although I did feel a bit guilty and kinda like I was a bad parent when her young men missionaries came over that night to give her the lessons and they asked if she would please go to church next week... Oops then she replys I really want to go, I love church, I will try. Then she looks at me and her dad... Okay chalk one up on the bad parent side. I will admit it.

Treg's Mario Party 6

So right after Tias party on Friday night I stayed up late to set up for Tregs party on Saturday at 10:00.
It was a fun party planned with 10 different missions to collect coins in their coin boxes like the video game.
Then when they collected the 10 coins and defeated Bowser that is when they got their party bags. The kids loved their Mario hats and mustaches. And of course all the games. After the party grandma C. wanted to take him and Tia somewhere special so she took them to Build a Bear. I think it was a good thing I went with them because it was really busy and my mom was a little overwhelmed (this being her first visit and all). But I tell you after that Terry and I were bushed and I was most thankful that Tregs dream dinner was Top Ramen Noodles. :)

Matia's 8 - CRAZY

So I remember just 8 years ago giving birth to the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen. My insides and outs were completly in love with her and like they say I felt like there was nothing that could make me love her more. Well after 8 years of living with this little lady I do love her more. She is so special to me, always always making me smile. My heart is torn not sure to feel excited she is growing up because she is so much fun I just love to hear her views in life. Or be sad she is growing up because soon I fear she won't need me anymore. I just love being involved in her life and watching her little personality grow. Oh Matia you will never know how much I love you...So we had her party Friday night and it was a Late-Night-Movie-Party. She invited 9 of her closest friends and boy did we have some real fun. I only wish Troy was off work so we could invite her other 2 cousins her age. But we had fun making hair flowers, then eating hotdogs, playing the claw for bouncy-balls, popping balloons, then going to the sticky shoe to watch Princess and the Frog. What a fun night, really it couldn't have gone smoother. All the girls were so excited and they loved the looks they got as people drove by. Here is Tia's birthday cake that we didn't have time to cut and eat that night. So we just had to do it another time.

Moms March Madness Begins

Why, why, why do I do this to myself. That is the question I keep asking myself about the 10th of March every year for the last 6 years. You see I have 2 kids that their birthdays are just 4 days apart from each other. And I love each of them so much that I go to all ends to make sure they know that. I know not the smartest way of doing it but I do it. Even though every year I tell myself okay it is one kid or the other that has a party and then we will swap the next year... But no it never works out that way. So here I am in the middle of my madness trying to stay sain and this year we get to through in a baptism in the middle of it as well. So this weekend we are hosting a "Late Night Movie Party" for Tia, and a "Mario Party 6" for Treg. Yes, they will both be great fun and I always love having their friends over to play. I just hope I can make it through them then recover my office which has been hit by a tornado.

Crew

Oh my hannah-banana this kid goat is so stinking cute. My brother is getting into pack goats for hiking and this is his first addition to the family. He is only 2 days old and has to drink from a bottle. It reminds me so much of when I was a kid myself having to feed our kid goats from a bottle. Oh and the cutest little sound he makes when he cries.... It just makes my heart go pitter patter. I would keep him if I could!

Hunters Ed!

Where did it go? Lets see we started the month out with Bowdee and I going every Tues and Wed to Lehi for our Hunters Ed class. It was 3 hours a night and we did that for 3 weeks. By the end of the course Bowdee and I were both ready to purposefully flunk our tests so we could do it again. We just loved the time that we had to go off together and learn some really cool things about guns and safety. I honestly feel like this is a course EVERYONE should take. Not just those who want to hunt but everyone I feel like there would be so many less gun accidents that it would be worth it. Anyway we both passed our written tests I got 100% and Bowdee got 94% we were both excited about that but nervous about the shooting test. The big day came and after a couple times going out practicing I felt like I could pass the test. However, Bowdee had a .22 that was way to big for him, so we were all nervous for him. But fear not he pulled through and passed the test by the skin of his teeth. I passed with 28/30 and felt I could have done better if I relaxed and went pee before the shooting began... Anyway both Bowdee and I now have our Hunters Safety! Ya Ya so cool. Last night Terry and I even put in for my first deer hunt. We will see how that goes, it should be a fun camping trip anyway.

Ice Fishing Again

I know I know we should learn there just isn't a whole lot of action when ice fishing... But it is just so nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air. Terry and his friend Rusty were going out so I talked Rusty into waiting until me and the kids got out of church and then we headed up to Deer Creek. The kids had fun pretending olympics on the hill next to us, Dash and Ziggy tormented each other, Terry and Rusty chatted and I caught all the fish.... Okay well I caught one and had like 4 other good bites. The boys couldnt stand the thought of me out fishing them so I took the kids home and they stayed to out fish me... I don't know how much they paid who for the fish the brought home but somehow "Right when I left the fishing got AMAZING!" Huh figure that one out. Well it was another nice memory created. Thanks Rusty and Terry for letting us tag along.

Valentine's Day

So this year since Valentine's Day was on Sunday we got to celebrate it all weekend long. Starting with all the class parties on Friday! I went and helped out with Tregs class and I have to say he has some really cute kids in his class. And Mrs. Bigler is always wonderful. Then after school we delivered all our valentine cookies to our loved ones. Then on Saturday Terry and the kis decorated my kitchen with these cute balloons and flowers. Then I made pink pancakes with powder sugar hearts on them. We went swimming and then practiced shooting. Sunday I just couldn't leave my sweetheart home alone so we skipped church and I sacrifice and took him ice fishing. Just the two of us out for a couple hours it was so nice to just be able to sit and talk without the fishing interupting our train of thoughts... So no we didn't catch any fish. But it was still fun! Happy Valentine's day Terry I hope you know how much you mean to me. I feel like we make a great team and there is nothing we can't conquer!

Boat Show 2010

This year we headed to the boat show on the opening day 2/11. Of course we hit subway first for our $5.00 footlongs that we all love. Tia goes for the Cold Cut Combo, Treg the Black Forest Ham, Bowdee LOVES the Subway Melt and Terry the Chicken. We also went with Troy and his 3 girls. It was lots of fun to have friends there with us. The best part was meeting all the pro wakeboarders having them sign our posters and then watching them board. Mom got sick of following the boys (a.k.a. Terry and Troy) around with a dry towel wiping off their drool off the boats. But it was all good there was plenty of my daydreaming moments as I would board a really cool boat.
There was a time we lost Matia... It almost made me panic but then I followed my motherly intuition and found her at the fish tank watching the fisher try to catch the bass. What a fun night for all of us.
